I was really sad when my parents sold the canoe I used to paddle to school.

My parents asked my sister and I  where we would travel to since we both finally had passports. My sister said she wanted to go to Europe and then I (very confidently) yelled HAWAII! It must have slipped my mind that Hawaii is a part of the United States (even though it isn’t a continental state) and that no passport was required. I realized this after I yelled that out and now it is the running joke of my family whenever travel out of the country is involved.
